I was subbing in a first grade classroom today as a 1-to-1 teaching assistant. This class is well organized and the teacher has done a wonderful job teaching the kids how to learn independently at a variety of centers during their morning literacy block. The kids are engaged, obviously enjoy the work they are doing, and are learning great skills. In this photo, the girl is drawing and writing a response about the the book she listened to on a CD. How fun!
