Today was spent with family! We had breakfast with Scott's parents at Pheasant Run. Then we headed over to spend the afternoon with our daughter who lives in St. Charles. She and her grandma are recording memories. It was fun to listen to them. Then, at dinner time we headed up to my sister-in-law's house for dinner and 'game night'. We weren't very lucky.....this Cool Whip container was full at the start of the evening! Oh well, spending time with family is better than being rich!

Can you guess who is behind the feathered mask?

I couldn't resist this photo op outside the Denver Art Museum. Standing by the huge sculpture of the broom and dustpan is my daughter Kristin. After visiting the Denver Public Library, we stopped at Nova Coffee for lattes to enjoy during our long walk back to her house.

Day 41 - Ducks

I enjoyed walking around Lake Arlington today on this unusually warm February day. The ice on the lake melted just enough to give these ducks a chance to enjoy a swim. The lake is man-made and was dug about 10 years ago as a flood retention project. It is now managed by our park district and has many recreational amenities. The walking path is about 2 miles around the lake. The wind was blowing pretty hard from the southwest as you can see by the flag pole at the lake.

As a new retiree, I said 'yes' to taking over the newsletter that goes out to the retirees from our school district. I created the newsletter using the 'Pages' application on my Mac. Today I ran it off, stuffed the envelopes with the 8 page (4 page back-to-back) newsletter, and sent it out to 230+ retirees who wish to stay active in our group. We still send it via snail mail, since some retirees don't have email. I wonder how long it will take before everyone has email.
